About me
After completing a five-year training in the University of Coimbra (Clinical Psychology branch, couple and family therapy model), I moved to London to undertake a master’s in Child Development (MSc) and a doctorate in the area of cultural diversity, both at Brunel University .
My doctorate was followed by further clinical training at the renowned Tavistock Institute, where I worked in psychotherapy for children and adolescents with learning disabilities, migrant families with children and individual therapy for adolescents and adults, followed by further training at WLMHT.
Here, I worked in psychotherapy for elderly groups and young adults. In parallel, I held a position at the Centre for Cross Cultural Studies of the Institute of Family Therapy , working on issues of psychotherapy and diversity.
The sum of these rich and varied experiences led me to an integrative approach to psychotherapy and to the possibility of offering psychotherapy in English and Portuguese. I am registered with the Portuguese Order of Psychologists (9440), and my combined experience as a psychologist and a researcher extends over two decades.
